Installation

This extension is Seamonkey specific.

DO NOT INSTALL IN Mozilla Suite! Current versions of xSidebar will install but subsequently you will not be able to restart Mozilla Suite. Specifically it will start up but will not display or be visible on your screen.

YOU SHOULD UNINSTALL existing installations of xSidebar before installing a new version. Failure to do so may result in strange errors.

• Access to the option settings of (some) Firefox extensions ported to SeaMonkey: F9 (Open Sidebar), Click on the xSidebar Settings button. In the dropdown menu list you should see items for various extensions that include a pointer to their options dialog in their contents.rdf file.

  This isn't very reliable as this field isn't maintained or actually used by Firefox since it acquired an extension manager (approximately Firefox 0.9).

• [fix] Extensions with autocomplete textboxes were not working because Firefox's autocomplete syntax and implementation are very different. xSidebar now implements the autocomplete binding from the Seamonkey trunk which supports the Firefox syntax. Extensions that use autocomplete textboxes like Scrapbook and Flickr Sidebar now won't error out and their search boxes now work although there is no autocomplete history available.

  The modified Scrapbook and Flickr Sidebar extensions have been updated to work with the latest xSidebar so you will also need to re-download and install these.

• The Page Info sidebar now has a tab-scroller widget as the right-most tabs are unreachable if the sidebar is too narrow.
