accountex
accountex
is a powerful extension to export and import the account settings from/to
Mozilla Thunderbird .
The export assistant saves your account settings in a xml based text
file (RDF). Supported are pop3, imap and 'local folder' accounts.
The import assistant imports your saved account settings in a
thunderbird profile. Very helpful for example after a new installation
or re-installation.
Notes: While porting this extension to
SeaMonkey I noticed that not all account information is exported, for example
the Global Inbox setting new in Thunderbird 2.0. Outgoing SMTP servers are
also not saved. The SMTP server key for an account is exported but if imported
into an profile without that SMTP server or if it has a different key then
the imported account will not have any outgoing server settings.
Paths to your mailbox files are absolute, so if you import an account into
a new profile, the settings in the new profile/account will point to the
mailbox files located in the account from where the settings were exported.
Install accountex for Seamonkey:

addressContext
addressContext is an extension designed to speed up the process
of adding email addresses to the address book in
Mozilla Thunderbird .
addressContext
adds an entry to the context menu that allows you to choose between:
-Adds the senders or recipients of all selected messages to the address
book, presenting a dialogue window for each sender to allow
customization.
-Adds the senders or recipients of all selected messages to the address
book to a new Mailing List entry. Further, since mailing list entries
are really Address Book subdirectories, will add the recipients to the
main address book, as well.

Attachment Extractor
Attachment Extractor extracts all attachments from selected
messages and then can delete, detach or mark-read.
Just select the messages containing the attachments you want to extract
and select 'Extract Attachments' and this extension does the rest. No
more having to go through each message to extract the attachments!
xSidebar needs to be installed for the options dialog to work.

ConfigDate
ConfigDate allows you to configure the 'Date' column and displayed
date in message header. In Thunderbird many people are confused because of
the missing date from todays messages in the date column. By using
ConfigDate, you're able to choose out of 5 different date formats.
To configure ConfigDate in SeaMonkey , select Edit
—> Preferences... —> Mail & Newsgroups —>
Date configuration
Note:
The 5 date formats are given by Thunderbird itself.
The date formats are depending on your systems/regions setting,
too (e.g.: "25.08.2005 15:54" in Germany or
"2005/08/25 15:54" in US).
Visit extensions homepage for more information including instructions to

Dictionary Switcher
Dictionary Switcher toggles between the installed dictionaries
automatically or manually and displays the currently selected
dictionary in the navigator status bar. This SeaMonkey port also contains
the
Dictionary Switcher for Thunderbird which displays the currently
selected dictionary in the mailnews status bar and allows to change it.
Dictionary Switcher 1.3.1 is now compatible with SeaMonkey 1.1 and above.
Please install the latest Dictionary Switcher from addons.mozilla.org at

Display Mail User Agent
Display Mail User Agent adds an image on the right side of the
"header view" which displays the icon of the application with which the
selected mail was written. So if the person who sent the mail used e.g.
mozilla to send the mail, a mozilla icon will be displayed.
In feedback window the link to the website of that mail client is shown.
And you can click on it.

Duplicate Contact Manager
Duplicate Contact Manager searches for duplicate contact pairs
and presents each pair to the user. The user can decide how to handle
the pair.
Currently only one address book can be searched at a time. Users with
multiple address books cannot search for duplicates between address
books. This feature is planned for a future version.

Email This! Bookmarklet Extension
Email This! will send your recipient the link, title, &
highlighted text of the page you are viewing using GMail, Google Apps
GMail, Yahoo, Hotmail and Stand-Alone Mail Clients like Outlook
Express, Thunderbird, & More! If you hate toolbar buttons don’t
fret. I’ve included a right-click pop-up menu options and a menu on
the main toolbar. Accesskeys are also an option.
Changes in this version:
The Mailto option will open the integrated Mail client in SeaMonkey
directly; and in Firefox it will invoke the internal Firefox API that
opens an external mail client directly instead of the cumbersome and
roundabout method currently used.
Install Email This! for Seamonkey:
email_this_bookmarklet_extension-2.0.0-fx.xpi (SuiteRunner Ready requires xSidebar).
Folder Account
Folder Account adds two very simple options. First, you can
select which of your accounts will be used when composing, replying,
or forwarding mail based on which folder is currently selected. An
example where this could be useful is when two people share a set of
folders. You could configure TB to set a different return address for
you when you are working with your folders, and for the other user
when they are using theirs. Alternatively, if you use a different
mailing address for a mailing list, you can use this extension to set
your return address appropriately when you working with the list's
folder.
The second thing this extension does is allow you to set a default To
address for newly composed messages based on which folder you are
working in. This could be very useful for mailing lists – when
you create a new message in the mailing list folder, your message
would automatically be correctly addressed.
In both cases, if the current folder has no From address or To address
specified, the extension will check the parent folder, so you can
control the settings for an entire branch of your folder tree at one
time.

Folder Flags
Folder Flags
was born of the irritation that comes with having
SpamAssassin deliver to a folder and watching that folder get
scanned for spam by Thunderbird every time new mail arrives.
By changing Thunderbird's internal flag per folder settings,
I could finally get the scanning to stop and leave the mail alone.
You can set arbitrary flags on arbitrary folders, too. Mostly I
think this makes the icons change, except the 'Junk' flag, which
accomplishes what I described above. Right click on a folder in
the main view and find 'Flags...' (if you're using the U.S.
English version) to change flags on a certain folder.

ImportExportTools (MboxImport)
Thunderbird, like many other email clients, uses the mbox format to
archive email. It's curious that Thunderbird does not have a function
that lets you import or export files in this format and this lack is
sometimes a problem when you want to move the accounts from a pc to
another one or when you want to migrate (for example) from Mozilla to
Thunderbird.
MboxImport
makes the import/export of mbox files very easy.
To import, you must select the destination folder, then right-click
and choose the item "Import mbox file" from the menu "Import/export".
To export, simply right-click on the folder or on the
account and to choose the item you want from the menu "Import/export".
The menu is also under "Tools".
ImportExportTools (MboxImport enhanced) now allows you to export and
import messages with more flexibility, with the following options:
Tools Menu --> Import/Export in mbox/eml format
Context menu on folders panel --> Import/Export in mbox/eml format
export of folder in a single file (mbox format), with also the subfolders if you want;
export of all messages in single files (eml format);
export of all messages in single files (html or plain text format), with an index;
export of all messages in one single plain text file;
export of the index of the messages in a folder;
mbox files import;
eml files import;
import of all the eml files existing in a directory;
File menu --> Save selected messages
Context menu of thread panel --> Save selected messages
saving multiple messages in eml/html/plain text format with
just a click;
Edit menu --> Copy message to clipboard
Context menu of thread panel --> Copy message to clipboard
copy the message with headers to clipboard.

LookOut
LookOut is a plugin which allows will allow
Thunderbird to interface with Microsoft's mail tools by decoding metadata
and attachments encapsulated/embedded in a TNEF encoded attachment. The
TNEF decoding engine was inspired (with permission) by the
tnef.sf.net project.
From Wikipedia
Transport Neutral Encapsulation Format or TNEF is a proprietary e-mail
attachment format used by Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Exchange Server. An
attached file with TNEF encoding is most usually called winmail.dat or win.dat
and has a MIME type of Application/MS-TNEF.
There are a few tnef decoders out there that do an excellent job. One could
simply use one of these decoders as a helper application. This extension was
created for two reasons. The first being that LookOut allows you to see what
files are hidden in the anonymous encapsulation (winmail.dat). The second reason
is the realization that some lack the desire to opperate more than one or two
nonintegrated applications and LookOut makes the decoding part of the application.
I would throw up a screenshot but that would be useless as LookOut is designed to
be in the shadows doing it's thing and not be seen.
It should be noted that TNEF encapsulations will put a higher net and proc load
on the IMAP server (or any other server for that matter). This is because there
is no way for the client to ask for a sub-part of the TNEF file (whereas it can
ask for a MIME part). If the client is to extract any sub-parts of the TNEF part
it will need them all.
For SeaMonkey version 2.0 and above please install LookOut from

MailClassifier
The
MailClassifier extension helps you to move the email in the right
folder, it uses bayesian filtering. When a new mail arrives, it's
classified and the most probable folder it goes in is showed in the new
classification column. If you agree with the classification, click on the
hyperlink and the email will be moved in the respective folder. If the
classification is wrong or these is no classification you can train the
software showing the right classification.
